Torsten Liem MSc DO is Joint Principal of the German School of Osteopathy, a practising osteopath, lecturer in cranial osteopathy and head of several osteopathic MSc-programmes in Germany and Europe. He is the author and editor of several books and has written numerous articles. Torsten Liem is organiser of the international osteopathy symposia in Berlin; founder of an osteopathic teaching clinic and of the charitably financed centre for paediatric osteopathy in Hamburg. A board member of the German and European Societies of Pediatric Osteopathy, Torsten Liem is also co-founder and coeditor of the journal Osteopathische Medizin (Elsevier), member of the Advisory Board of the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine, and co-founder of Breathe Yoga. His core vision is the implementation of osteopathic principles in practice, and connecting them with the principles of classical Chinese medicine and yoga, and with psychological and energetic aspects. Paolo Tozzi MSc Ost, DO, PT Is Principal of the First Italian School of Veterinary Osteopathy, Vice-Principal of the Italian Association of Posturologists, former Treasurer of the Osteopathic European Academic Network (OsEAN), and former Vice Principal of CROMON, the Centre for Holistic Research in Osteopathy and Natural Medicine, Rome. You don't have to buy this book; it's all online. You can choose to read it on your computer screen in a week (as I did when I discovered and got hooked on Vern's Blog before the book was published) or you can have this incredible collection of profound thoughts by one of the world's greatest coaches and sport philosophers in your hands whenever you need it.

Vern's writing, unlike many of the sporting books I've read, always leaves me with the sensation that it was written for me. His style - simple and yet so thought provoking - is virtually unmatched in the sporting world. After skimming through the first few pages you'll find yourself having to close the text to digest the entries, only to realize how beneficial they can be to any sport enthusiast, especially to the elite athlete and coach.

Athletes often enquire about the secrets of champions. Some say there are no secrets; some say there are quite a number, you just have to find them. I would say many of the secrets are in this book, carefully concealed until somebody makes us aware of them; things such as meticulous planning, having optimal communication skills and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. About the Author
Marielle Frigge is a professor emerita in religious studies and philosophy at Mount Marty College and associate editor of the American Benedictine Review. She received her doctorate in theology and education, with specialization in Scripture and systematic theology, from Boston College. Frigge continues teaching for her own and other monasteries as well as various churches, ecumenical groups, and lay ministry programs. Probably the best angiography book available currently

There are now a lot books available on fluorescein angiography. I can tell you that the Monographs book published by the American Academy is just average. This book is excellent. Dr. G. Richard wrote most of the text with Dr. Yanuzzi doing the chapter on ICG angiography and Dr. Soubrane contributing on AMD. The book is all glossy paper and every other page contains FA or ICG images with text on the left page and images on the right. The image quality is superb. I do wish it came with an image CD so that the images could be used for talks.

The atlas is broken down by disease state and even offers up quite a few rather rare diseases. Also are chapters on general principles and interpretation. The reference section with each chapter is also very nice to have and the index is well done. Perhaps the best thing about the FA images is that the book shows images from all phases of the angiogram. And, the images are bigger than in most books! You get more than just one picture. So for example, for central serous, the book shows a red free, arterial filling, laminar flow phase, recirculation, and late phase from the same eye. 5 pictures. And this is typical of the entire book. Each image has its own individual descriptive caption, and the text is appropriate in detail as well.

Its not perfect though. For example, on the section on RPED, all 6 images are red free. So you dont really get an FA example of a simple serous RPED without hunting for in other sections of the book (there is one in the ICG chapter comparing the ICG-A and FA). There are also some mistakes where an image will be reversed. Also, there are some annoyances like for example, the text will say--the red free and FA did now show this but the ICG angiogram does, and all they show you is the ICG but dont show you the FA.

I highly recommend this book. Despite being 10 years old, it is still up to date for over 95-99% of the topics. The books by agarwal or shelly might be ok, but I found the agarwal book to be less focused, digressing to topics unrelated to angiography frequently. The shelly book is ok, but the pictures are smaller, with more white space between images. The other book I would consider in the same leaque as this one would be that recently published by Dr. Holz. You will be happy with this book though.

Helpful aid to German language learning

I've been a student of many languages. Over the course of high school and college, I formally studied Latin, Greek, Russian, Italian, Arabic, and German. But you won't master a language just by sitting in a classroom, so I also been a bit of an autodidact and done a lot of self-study to supplement my formal studies. I've come to find that verb conjugation books are some of the most helpful tools when it comes to building your foreign language skills. And thus far I've found these Big (Color) Book of (Language) Verbs to be among the best when it comes to verb conjugation books. (Besides the Big Yellow Book of German Verbs I also own the Big Silver Book of Russian Verbs.) The book provides some basic grammar information to explain the different conjugated forms along with some exercises to practice, but of course the main attraction is the collection of 555 fully conjugated verbs. The book not only provides full conjugations for all of these verbs, it also provides helpful usage examples with sample sentences and related verbs. An index in the back makes the book serve as a sort of German-English verb dictionary too. Even if the verb you're looking for isn't one of the 555, you can still look it up and find a verb that conjugates the same way. So if you're studying German, either as part of a class or just self-study, I would recommend this book as a worthwhile aid. It can help you learn how to correctly conjugate all those crazy German verbs and thus be able to construct meaningful German sentences.

A fabulous resource for intermediate level German Students

Best resource available for verb conjugation in German. Each page contains conjugations for a single verb along with many examples of the verb in usage.

Beginners can benefit from this resource as well, once they learn the infinitive form of a verb.

The cross reference in the back, covers thousands of additional verbs and points you to one of the 555 that complies to the same cunjugation rules.

The best $15 you'll ever spend on a language reference book!

Comprehensive and useful

For those with a basic background in German, this book is invaluable. It starts off with a chapter of concise and useful information about German verb conjugation and usage in general, followed up with 555 of the most-commonly used ones. For the vast majority of people learning German, this book will contain more than enough data, presented in a way that is easy to understand. Highly recommended.

Working in an IT company catering to bankers I bought this book to help understand their lingo. I have to say it hasn't disappointed yet. It is also very up to date the latest IT/banking terms. If you were to read all the definitions in this book you would probably know more than you banker. A great reference. Buy it!

Clear and Comprehensive

Whether you are a novice seeking to learn the fundamentals of banking, or an active professional who has just encountered an unusual term, you will want this book. Each definition is short (only a paragraph or so), but most contain links to other terms, so the reader can gain a progressively deeper understanding of how terms interrelate. I also like the frequent inclusion of dates (e.g., the year a particular law was passed). The definitions are authoritative--based on a number of leading accounting, banking, and financial entities identified in the introduction. It's worth far more than its bargain price. I look forward to the next edition (Year 2000?). Keep up the good work!

This can almost be considered an inexpensive textbook. It not only defines, but explains the terms in a simple, easy to understand format. Although in dictionary form, it consistently relates the terms to one another so the reader will understand how the concepts interwind. Includes financial and banking terms.

Binding is a problem

This is a great book, with lots of songs, large print, and good chording. But the binding on the copy I received made it impossible to play. I had to take it to a print shop, have them cut the binding and put on a spiral binding. Now the book is close to perfect, as it lies flat, something it wouldn't do originally. As long as I'm nit-picking, I have one other complaint. The key signature is only given on the first line of each song, rather than an all lines, as is customary on most such volumes.

A GREAT FAKE BOOK

The chord work used is "outstanding". I've had many of the same pieces in other books, but in this book the publisher added additional chords to each piece and the chords fit the songs "perfectly". Flatted 9ths, diminished chords, minor 6ths all included. The pages are not congested and the print is very clear. This music book is extremely well done.
