I don't recommend this book for anything but helping you read the PMBOK

I was studying for my PMP Exam and thought this would be a great resource to get me the knowledge to PASS. However, it has more CONS than PROS.
PROS:
Build around each chapter, so if you're reading the PMBOK, you can go to this book after each chapter and have additional questions to make sure you understand the concepts.
CONS:
About 20% of the questions have the wrong answers in the key. For example, the VERBIAGE says "the answer is A) 10%" but 10% is actually showing as B in the question options. This may not feel like a big deal, but if you're heads down in TONS of studying and you think "or dang I missed 5 questions I really need to study more" but really you only missed 1 question, that is a big deal. Further, if you realize there are 1 in 5 with the wrong answers noted, then you spend more time going back to the question to make sure their dumb typos are not really the culprit. It is annoying.
The questions are way too obvious. As I have taken the PMP Exam now, and passed thanks to OTHER study guides I used instead of this one, I can honestly tell you, if you rely only on this book you will walk into the exam thinking you know more than you do. This book usually has two very obviously wrong answers, so you are left with 2 possible answers. Of those two, one will be much more obviously correct (minus the typo errors noted above in the answer key). However, in the REAL PMP exam, you are OFTEN left with two answers that are technically correct and you have to decide which one is MORE correct. So, this book doesn't help with that at all.

- Answer for Question 192 should be "B" NOT "C"
- Answer for Question 91 should be "B" NOT "C"
- Answer for Question 223 should be "C" NOT "A"

A must have to study for the PMP Exam

Whether you're planning to take the PMP or CAPM exam, the questions here are laid out exactly the way they are on the exam. The guide is not meant to trick you, but to force you to read carefully and think about your answer before giving it. In this kind of exam there is always a right answer, and there are other answers that are similar, but not EXACTLY right. The questions presented here are often long and winded, with superfluous information, just like the exam. And to get through the exam, it's helpful to augment the coursework with this guide.
